Where the heart line is, and what a break looks like

The heart line is the top of the three horizontal lines across your palm. It runs from the edge of the hand under the pinky toward the index or middle finger. A break is a clear gap where the line stops and starts again a millimetre or two later. You are not looking for a crack. You are looking for a place where the ink of the line interrupts itself and then continues.

What a broken heart line actually means

Read a break as a shift, not a wound. Somewhere in your life, the way you loved changed. That could be an ended relationship, but it could also be the year you stopped putting up with a friendship, the point where a parent finally stopped being your emotional centre, or a move that reshaped who was around you. Palmistry reads breaks as pivots. The pivot might have hurt, or it might have been a relief. The hand does not judge.

Breaks

A break is a clean gap. Read it as a chapter change in how you love. If the second segment continues in roughly the same line, life picked up on similar terms. If it starts higher (toward the fingers) or lower (toward the palm centre), the way you attach changed direction.

Islands

An island is a small oval loop inside the line. Read it as a stretch where you felt caught in one pattern of love, often longer than you wanted. Islands close and the line resumes.

Chains

A chained section (little linked loops instead of a clean line) is read as emotional scatter. It often maps to a stressful stretch or a few years of relationships that never really landed.

Forks

A fork at the end of the heart line, near the index finger, is one of the more welcome marks. It usually reads as a person who can love more than one type of person over a lifetime and grow through each one.

Which hand tells you what

Read your dominant hand for how you are loving now, and your non-dominant hand for what you were set up to feel by upbringing. Do heart lines actually change?
